Directors’s Message

Media is a fast paced, fast changing industry. Digital and mobile technology have forever changed how we get our news and information.
At the Center for Innovation in Media students learn to tell stories on multiple platforms including mobile, tablet, web, social media, print, television, streaming video and radio. The Center houses all student media including Sidelines, MTSU’s digital daily news source, MT10 and MT10 News television and WMTS 88.3 radio station.
WMOT is MTSU’s 100,000-watt professional public radio station. Founded in 1969, the station serves the Middle Tennessee and metro Nashville areas with classical, jazz, and Americana music, plus news, talk, and MTSU sports programming. WMOT offers students hands-on experience in radio reporting, audio broadcast production and announcing.
Coming this spring the CIM will launch MT Now, a news app for iOS and Android phones. The app will bring together students and stories from all media to break and explain the news on a mobile platform.
The media industry is forever changed by technology. At the Center for Innovation in Media we embrace change and create audience focused media that is engaged on all platforms.
Welcome to the Center for Innovation in Media, the future of media is here.
